Dr. Ivette Daly was born in Cuba but lived most of her early childhood in Costa Rica. Her family moved to the United States in the year 2000 and lived in Coral Springs, Florida. She attended the University of Florida, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Cell Sciences. She spent most of her time in a lab doing genetic research on neurological diseases. However, she soon discovered that her true passion was dentistry after watching her brother, now an oral surgeon, go through his dental school experience.
She then moved north for dental school, receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2013. She was a member of Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity and graduated with membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society.
Dr. Daly loves North Carolina so much that she decided to stay to begin her three year orthodontic residency at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and graduated with a Master's degree and a certificate in Orthodontics. During this time, she focused her research on early childhood dental trauma. Dr. Daly has been Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics
A committed life-long learner, Dr. Daly actively seeks out the latest research and regularly participates in continuing education. She enjoys strengthening her skills, deepening her knowledge, and knowing she is providing the most up-to-date orthodontics to her patients. She is an active member of the University of Carolina Orthodontic alumni organization, the American Association of Orthodontics, and the American Dental Society.
Dr. Daly was welcomed to McMillian Orthodontics in May 2020. She appreciates being part of a practice dedicated to providing the highest-quality personalized care. She also speaks Spanish and she can often be heard around the office speaking Spanish with her patients to provide for a more comfortable and personal patient experience.
Outside the office, Dr. Daly spends much of her time with family. She and her husband, Victor, who is an Industrial Engineer, met at the University of Florida. They have a young daughter, Emma, and an infant son, Victor S, as well as a friendly family pup, Lady. Dr. Daly and Victor love movies and traveling. When she can find a few spare minutes, Dr. Daly loves to escape into a good book.
